ARCO 2014

ARCO  ARCO

ARCO

ARCOmadrid 2014 is a fair both for contemporary art professionals and art-lovers and the general public. I was another year in ARCO, like visitor of course. I got a free pass by Winson&Newton.

As always the first 20 minutes, puzzling, perhaps I was blinded by so much art , or I didn´t know where to go with so many people. Many 'hipsters' and mobile shootings,
the outstanding visitor was who watched the work directly, face to face, without the screen protection.

There were cool art dealers bored by people who pose and shoot but don't buy, nevertheless there were a lot of red points on the walls. This year I did not see anything controversial , or perhaps I've already  seen it all, more of the same, the art machine continues to produce.

For me the most striking were the installations that move slowly, like metal balls rolling down an iron, plastic mattress breathing, a circle deforming or disks of paint colors rotating...  we need tranquility.
